Creating a brand for the future

St Albans College tasked icandi CQ to evolve its brand to be more representative of its new vision and purpose to be a forward thinking, innovative school, equipping boys for an unknown future. Part of this was to ensure an impactful digital presence for the brand – in its original form, the brand was ‘lost’ online.

Developing a future-fit corporate identity

A circular holding device was added to the logo giving it a stronger standalone presence. The colour palette, fonts, icons and photography treatment were all updated and modernised revealing a modern, connected and dynamic brand, with a more prominent digital presence.

Rollout across brand touchpoints

icandi CQ provided all the templates and an easy-to-use guide on how to apply the visual identity. We also developed a phased implementation plan to roll out the new CI and provided a communications plan to introduce the new CI to all stakeholders.

Online stationery and templates were updated in phase one of the rollout. This included:

  • Digital stationery: email signatures, electronic letterheads, email templates for newsletters.
  • Digital channels: website banners and social media channels.
  • Templates: PPT, posters, event invitations and programmes.

icandi CQ continues to work on St Alban’s brand requirements including the design of their Diamond Jubilee celebratory logo.
